Injured Workers' Insurance Fund - Regulation by Maryland Insurance Administration and Payment of Premium Taxes

Synopsis:

Requiring that the Injured Workers' Insurance Fund (IWIF) be treated as an insurer and be made subject to regulation by the Maryland Insurance Administration as a mutual property and casualty insurer and as a workers' compensation insurer; requiring that IWIF pay the premium tax; requiring that IWIF become a member of the Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Corporation; repealing specified exceptions for IWIF under prior approval rate setting and competitive rating; etc.
