Nursing Facilities - Electronic Monitoring

Synopsis:

Requiring a comprehensive or extended care facility to permit a resident or a resident's legal representative to monitor the resident using video cameras or other electronic monitoring devices; requiring the facility to provide power sources and mounting space for cameras; requiring a resident who shares a room to obtain written consent from the other resident before beginning monitoring; prohibiting a facility from refusing to admit an individual or removing a resident due to a request to install a monitoring device; etc.
