Income Tax - Credit for Donated Conservation Easement

Synopsis:

Allowing a State income tax credit for 50% of the value of donations of land or an interest in land to the Maryland Environmental Trust that are accepted and approved by the Board of Public Works; requiring that the fair market value of a donation be substantiated by an appraisal by a certified appraiser; limiting the credit to $50,000 for an individual and $100,000 for a corporation; allowing unused credit to be carried forward for up to 10 taxable years; applying the Act to tax years after 2000; etc.
