Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 643 - This bill increases the salaries of the County Commissioners of Frederick County to $45,000 per year and provides that the Act does not apply to the salaries or compensation of the incumbent County Commissioners.
Senate Bill 509, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 643.
