Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 874 - This bill authorizes holders of a limited winery license to distill and bottle pomace brandy and to sell and deliver pomace brandy to specified persons under specified circumstances. This bill also establishes a production limit for distilling and bottling pomace brandy and defines the term "pomace brandy".
Senate Bill 668, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 874.
