Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 1580 - This bill amends the Baltimore City - Maryland Historical Society Loan of 1997, as amended by Chapter 183 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2000, to require that the loan proceeds be encumbered by the Board of Public Works or expended for the purpose provided in the Act by June 1, 2006.
Senate Bill 337, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 1580.
