Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 515 - This bill increases the annual salary of the Sheriff of Kent County beginning with a specified calendar year and provides that the Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of the incumbent Sheriff of Kent County.
House Bill 582, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 515.
