Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 593 -
This bill alters the salary of the Sheriff of Caroline County from $55,000 to $65,000 and provides that the Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of the incumbent Sheriff of Caroline County.
House Bill 174, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 593.
