Higher Education - Workforce Shortage Student Assistance Grants

Synopsis:

Consolidating specified workforce shortage and economic development student scholarship and grant programs in the Maryland Higher Education Commission into the new Workforce Shortage Student Assistance Grant program; requiring the Commission and the Office of Student Financial Assistance in the Commission to administer the program; establishing eligibility criteria for grant awards and award amounts under the program; requiring the Secretary of Higher Education to appoint an Advisory Council on Workforce Shortage; etc.
