Health Care Malpractice Actions - Payment of Future Damages

Synopsis:

Requiring that if the verdict for future damages in a health care malpractice action exceeds $250,000, on motion of any party, the court shall appoint a neutral expert to evaluate whether all or part of the future damages should be paid in the form of annuities or other appropriate financial instruments or in periodic or other payments and, if the neutral expert makes a specified finding, to recommend how the payments should be structured; etc.
