Health - Alcohol and Drug Abuse - Alternative Treatment Programs

Synopsis:

Providing a defendant the option of entering an alternative treatment program for alcohol or drug abuse under specified circumstances; requiring an alternative treatment program to register with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; requiring the Department to provide a list of available alternative treatment programs to a court; urging the District Court and the drug treatment courts in the State to encourage the use of alternative treatment programs; etc.
