State Board of Nursing - Nurse Practitioners - Certification Requirements and Authority to Practice

Synopsis:

Altering requirements for certification as a nurse practitioner; requiring the State Board of Nursing to waive specified education requirements; authorizing the State Board of Nursing to establish continuing education or competency requirements for the renewal of certificates; repealing a requirement that the State Board of Physicians approve the scope of practice of specified nurse practitioners; requiring the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to repeal specified regulations; etc.
