Family Law - Divorce - Required Mediation

Synopsis:

Requiring a circuit court, in divorce actions involving disputes over child custody or visitation, spousal or child support, or property disposition, to issue an order requiring the parties to participate in mediation; prohibiting the court from ordering mediation under specified circumstances; requiring the court to select a specified mediator if the parties do not agree on a mediator; providing for the payment of costs; and authorizing the Court of Appeals to adopt rules to implement the Act.
