Synopsis:Prohibiting a creditor or a debt collector from initiating or filing a specified consumer debt collection action under specified circumstances; specifying that any subsequent payment toward, written or oral affirmation of, or any other activity on the debt after the expiration of the statute of limitation does not revive or extend the limitations period; applying the Act prospectively so that it may not be applied to any debt collection action begun before October 1, 2016; etc.
