Vehicle Laws - Eluding Police - Penalties

Synopsis:

Making it a felony for a driver of a vehicle to attempt to elude a police officer and continuing into another state; increasing the penalty for attempting to elude a police officer resulting in injury to another from not more than $3,000 or 3 years' imprisonment, or both, to $5,000 or 5 years' imprisonment, or both; and increasing the penalty for attempting to elude a police officer resulting in the death of another person from $5,000 or 5 years' imprisonment, or both, to $10,000 or 10 years' imprisonment, or both.
