Health Care Facilities - Certificate of Need

Synopsis:

Specifying that a hospital may acquire a freestanding ambulatory surgical facility or physician group practice without obtaining a certificate of need under specified circumstances; and providing that a hospital may not build or expand its ambulatory surgical capacity in specified settings without obtaining a certificate of need if the building or expansion would increase the surgical capacity of the State's health care system.
