Family Law - Divorce - Grounds

Synopsis:

Repealing provisions of law related to limited divorces and absolute divorces; providing a sole ground of divorce based on the separation of the parties for a 6-month period of time; shortening the time period to 6 months before a person may apply for a divorce if the grounds occurred outside the State; applying the Act to complaints for divorce filed on or after October 1, 1996; and generally relating to grounds for divorce.
