Notaries Public - Qualifications, Application Procedure, and Appointment

Synopsis:

Repealing requirements for senatorial approval of notary public applications; repealing a residence requirement for a notary public who lives in the State; requiring an applicant to obtain a notary public application only from the Secretary of State; and prohibiting a notary public applicant from submitting as an application a photocopy or other reproduction not obtained from the Secretary of State.
