Deaf Students - Access to Out-of-State Specialized Educational Centers

Synopsis:

Authorizing deaf students on approval by the State Superintendent of Schools to attend specialized educational centers outside the State if the deaf student is a Maryland resident and resides over a certain distance from any branch of the Maryland School for the Deaf; and requiring the Department to be responsible for providing certain reimbursement to the specialized educational center.
