Synopsis:

Authorizing a lay advocate to aid a victim of domestic violence by providing information about legal rights and remedies and judicial procedures; assisting in the preparation of legal pleadings by explaining terms, explaining where to include information, and transcribing the victim's words; sitting with the victim of domestic violence at a trial table if the court allows; aiding a governmental representative in preparing a case; and authorizing a lay advocate to engage in general advocacy activities.
