Synopsis:

Extending a presumption of compensability under the workers' compensation law to include deputy sheriffs in Baltimore County who suffer from heart disease or hypertension resulting in partial or total disability or death only to the extent of any disease that is more severe than any condition before the employment; providing that workers' compensation benefits received under the Act are in addition to retirement benefits; and requiring a current deputy sheriff of Baltimore County to submit a medical report on any hypertension.
