Confiscated Handguns - Offer for Sale Before Disposition

Synopsis:

Requiring local law enforcement agencies to offer for sale to licensed gun dealers handguns or ammunition confiscated under Art. 27, { 36C that have a market value of $50 or more and have not been retained for official use by the agency; requiring local law enforcement agencies to transfer the proceeds from the sales to the General Fund; and providing that if the handguns and ammunition are not sold within a certain time, a local law enforcement agency may dispose of the handguns and ammunition as the agency deems appropriate.
