Synopsis:

Increasing the rate of the hotel tax imposed in Washington County to 3.5% for Fiscal Year 1997; providing for the distribution of certain hotel tax revenue in Washington County to be used for certain purposes; requiring the Hagerstown/Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau to expend at least $55,000 in Fiscal Year 1998 for advertising and marketing for promoting Civil War tourism; and generally relating to the use by certain local subdivisions of certain revenues to promote tourism.
