Automobile Insurance Rate Reduction Act of 1996

Synopsis:

Reducing automobile insurance rates by prohibiting the payment of compensation for soliciting clients or soliciting law suits; requiring the Insurance Administration to make specified notifications to licensing boards; allowing the Insurance Commissioner to find certain rates to be excessive; requiring insurers to take specified actions; allowing waivers of certain coverages; limiting payment for soft tissue injuries; specifying when and how collateral benefits may be paid; limiting the rights of uninsured operators; etc.
