Entitled:
Divorce - Educational Seminar on Effects on Children

Synopsis:

Requiring the parties to a divorce action, prior to the granting of a divorce decree, to attend an educational seminar that is designed to educate parents about the effects, and to minimize the disruption, of a divorce on the lives of children; requiring the Court of Appeals of Maryland to adopt specified rules to implement the Act; specifying that the seminar may be provided under contract with a public or private agency; and applying the Act to all divorce actions filed on or after October 1, 1996.
