Lead Poisoning Prevention Program - Risk Reduction in Housing - Exemption

Synopsis:

Exempting affected property in which a child under 6 years old does not reside from provisions of law requiring the reduction of lead risk in housing, subject to regulations of the Department of the Environment; eliminating the requirement that owners perform reductions of lead risk in housing that does not contain a child under 6 by October 1, 1999; prohibiting owners from discriminating against families; and authorizing families that suffer discrimination to file a complaint with the Human Relations Commission.
