Punitive Damages - Limitation

Synopsis:

Providing that a punitive damages award may not exceed four times the compensatory damages award, except in certain cases; providing that a jury may not be informed of this limitation; requiring a court to reduce a punitive damage award that exceeds this limitation to an amount that conforms with the limitation; and providing that this limitation may not be construed as affecting a court's authority to enter a remittitur or order a new trial.
