Public Safety - Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Synopsis:

Requiring the installation of carbon monoxide detectors in single-family and multiple-family dwelling units that are to be constructed; requiring the detectors to bear the label of a nationally recognized standard testing laboratory; requiring the State Fire Prevention Commission to approve the detector installation methods and locations; requiring landlords to provide special detectors for deaf or hearing-impaired tenants; and establishing fines for violations.
