Hospitals - HIV Testing - Health Care Providers

Synopsis:

Requiring designated hospital infectious disease/communicable disease officers to order tests to be conducted in a specified manner on blood samples or other body fluids of hospital patients for the presence of antibodies to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV); establishing an exception for HIV tests conducted under the Act to the requirement that informed consent be obtained before conducting an HIV test; specifying the confidentiality of medical records and other information related to HIV tests conducted under the Act; etc.
