Vehicle Laws - Improperly Registered Motor Vehicles - Law Enforcement Incentive Program

Synopsis:

Requiring the MVA to establish an incentive program offering financial rewards to encourage law enforcement officers to take action against improperly registered motor vehicles; requiring rewards under the incentive program to be paid to the local government employing a law enforcement officer who issues a citation for an improperly registered motor vehicle that leads to a conviction; and requiring the amount of the reward to equal 50% of the excise tax collected when the vehicle is properly registered in the State.
