Vehicle Laws - Vehicle-Related Offenses - Assessment of Surcharges to Support Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services

Synopsis:

Requiring a court, in addition to any other penalty provided by law, to assess a $10 surcharge against an individual convicted of specified vehicle-related offenses; requiring the clerk of the court to collect the surcharges and to remit the funds semiannually to the county in which the violation occurred; requiring the governing body of the county to distribute the funds to volunteer fire and rescue companies in the county; limiting use of the funds to specified costs directly related to support of volunteer fire and rescue operations; etc.
