Lead Paint Hazards - Rent Escrow Law - Authority to Abate

Synopsis:

Repealing a provision of law authorizing a lessee to deposit rent in a rent escrow account if a lessor fails to repair or eliminate paint with lead pigment within a dwelling unit; and altering a requirement in a rent escrow law to authorize a lessor to abate lead-based paint hazards, rather than remove any and all lead-based paint, in order to comply with the requirements of the rent escrow law.
