Standby Guardian - Parental Designation

Synopsis:

Restricting the scope of the authority of a standby guardian designated by a parent of a minor child to extend only to guardianship of the person of the minor child; authorizing a person designated as standby guardian to become guardian of the property of a minor only upon appointment by a court; and reducing from 180 to 90 days the period of time after the beginning of a standby guardianship within which a standby guardian is required to file a petition for judicial appointment as guardian of the person or property of a minor.
