Courts - Complaints - Allegation of Monetary Damages

Synopsis:

Establishing that a complaint that contains a claim for monetary damages filed in accordance with the Maryland Rules of Procedure in a circuit court or the District Court does not have to specify the sum of monetary damages sought; and establishing that a complaint filed in a circuit court or in the District Court that contains a claim for monetary damages must allege that the amount in controversy exceeds or falls within the required jurisdictional amount.
