Health Occupations - Physician Assistants - Medication Orders

Synopsis:

Authorizing a physician assistant to write medication orders under an approved job description and in accordance with specified provisions of law; prohibiting a physician from delegating the authority to write medication orders to a physician assistant student in a training program; authorizing the Board of Physician Quality Assurance (Board) to authorize a physician to delegate to a physician assistant the authority to write medication orders under specified circumstances; requiring the Board to adopt regulations; etc.
