Synopsis:

Requiring group contracts of health insurance to provide continuation coverage for up to 18 months to dependent children after they reach the limiting age; providing for the nature of and payment for continuation coverage; establishing an election period for continuation coverage; requiring a specified statement in certificates issued to insureds; establishing specified duties of the Insurance Commissioner as to continuation coverage; providing for notice of the availability of continuation coverage; etc.
