Defenses - "Fireman's Rule" Abolished

Synopsis:

Eliminating, as a defense, the common law doctrine known as the "Fireman's Rule" which prevents a safety officer from recovering for injuries the officer sustained or any similar rule that operates to deny a safety officer recovery in an action at law or authorized by statute based on negligence of a person in causing injuries to a safety officer or an owner or occupier of land or premises that caused harm to a safety officer; and establishing that the Act does not affect specified other defenses, privileges, immunities, or rights.
