Elected Officials - Conviction of Controlled Dangerous Substance Offenses

Synopsis:

Requiring the suspension from office of elected officials who are convicted of a crime involving a controlled dangerous substance; providing for the temporary filling of the elective office during the period of the elected official's suspension; providing for the reinstatement of the elected official if the conviction of the elected official is reversed or overturned; and submitting this amendment to the qualified voters of the State of Maryland for their adoption or rejection.
