Health Insurance - Treatment Guidelines and Protocols - Length of Inpatient Hospitalization Coverage

Synopsis:

Prohibiting specified insurers, nonprofit health service plans, and health maintenance organizations from denying inpatient hospitalization coverage for a longer length of stay whenever the reduction of the length of inpatient hospitalization is based on certain treatment protocols or guidelines if an insured's or enrollee's attending physician determines that the longer length of stay is medically necessary.
