Entitled:
Motor Vehicles - Penalties - Multiple Violations - Serious Physical Injury or Death

Synopsis:

Increasing the penalties that may be imposed on a person who commits at least two violations of specified provisions of the Motor Vehicle Law in connection with a single traffic incident that results in the death of or serious physical injury to another person; and prohibiting the State's Attorney from seeking increased penalties under the Act unless the State's Attorney provides notice to the defendant at least 15 days before trial in a circuit court or 5 days before trial in District Court.
