Maryland Medical Assistance Program - Nursing Facilities - Reserved Beds

Synopsis:

Altering the maximum time that the Maryland Medical Assistance Program will pay to reserve a bed in a nursing facility; requiring the nursing facility to accept payment at the rate the Department sets to reserve a bed beyond the time for which the Program will pay; requiring the nursing facility to readmit a recipient in the next available semiprivate room; and requiring that savings realized by the Act be expended within the Medical Care Provider Reimbursement's budget by enhancing nursing home reimbursement rates.
