Wrongful Death Actions

Synopsis:

Providing that a parent of a deceased adult child and an adult child of a deceased parent may be awarded noneconomic damages as a beneficiary, if no other person qualifies under current law for noneconomic damages, in a wrongful death action; providing that a person who was substantially dependent on a deceased person may be a beneficiary in a wrongful death action; providing for the tolling of limitations when a wrongful death action accrues in favor of a person who is a minor or mentally incompetent; etc.
