Proposed Merger of Major Railroads Serving Maryland

Synopsis:

Ensuring the preservation of effective railroad competition in Maryland through the continuation of rail service by two Class I carriers and other actions affecting regional and shortline railroads, and the protection of rail employees, communities, and consumers in Maryland from adverse impacts of a proposed merger of Conrail and either CSX or Norfolk Southern.
