Higher Education - Alcohol or Controlled Dangerous Substances - Parental Notification

Synopsis:

Requiring public institutions of higher education to notify parents of students who are disciplined for violating an alcohol or controlled dangerous substance policy of the disciplinary action taken against the student; requiring the institutions to discipline students who violate federal, State, or local alcohol or controlled dangerous substance laws; and requiring the institutions to obtain to the extent possible from law enforcement agencies the names of students who violate these alcohol or controlled dangerous substance laws.
