Synopsis:

Increasing from 15 to 30 days the period after an injury causing occurrence during which specified persons may not attempt to or negotiate a settlement, obtain a release of liability, or obtain related statements from injured patients; providing that a settlement, release, or statement obtained contrary to the Act may not be used for specified purposes; prohibiting for 30 days after an accident or disaster specified communications to a prospective claimant or a relative; providing certain penalties; etc.
