Synopsis:

Requiring a county superintendent of schools to refer for a behavioral or mental health assessment a child who has been suspended for an extended period of time or expelled; establishing specified information and recommendations to be included in an assessment; requiring, to the extent possible, a parent to be included in the assessment process; requiring a county board to develop an incentive program to encourage the use of student assessments; prohibiting an assessment from delaying a student's return to school; etc.
