Private Detective Agencies - Hiring Individuals Not Certified as
Private Detectives
Providing that an individual who is not certified as a private
detective may provide private detective services in the State if the
individual is employed by or has applied for employment with a
licensed private detective agency, the licensed private detective
agency has taken specified steps to have the individual certified as a
private detective, the individual passes a preliminary investigation,
and the Secretary of the State Police has not denied the application.
