Maryland Medical Assistance Program - State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program - Nonprofit Health Maintenance Organizations Required

Synopsis:

Requiring managed care organizations that participate in the Maryland Medical Assistance Program to be nonprofit health maintenance organizations to the extent permitted by federal law or waiver; and requiring any health maintenance organization that provides health insurance benefits under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program to be a nonprofit health maintenance organization.
