Hospitals - Credentialling Process - Health Care Practitioners and Physicians

Synopsis:

Requiring each hospital, as a condition of licensure, to establish a credentialling process for health care practitioners and physicians who are employed by or have staff privileges at the hospital; requiring the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene to establish specified minimum standards for the process; establishing standards by which each hospital shall grant clinical privileges; and prohibiting specified factors from being considered in the determination of qualifications for staff membership or clinical privileges.
