Income Tax Reduction

Synopsis:

Reducing the top marginal tax rate under the Maryland State income tax on individuals from 4.85% to 4.75% for tax year 2000 and from 4.8% to 4.75% for tax year 2001; and increasing the amount that an individual may deduct for specified exemptions to determine Maryland taxable income from $1,850 to $2,400 for tax year 2000 and from $2,100 to $2,400 for tax year 2001.
